The British Met Office has lowered by 20% its previous prediction of how much hotter the planet will get in the next few years. Which is inconvenient, not to say embarrassing, for the plethora of scientists, politicians and policy makers who, taking their lead from an earthling called Al Gore, spent the last decade issuing dire predictions of melting ice caps, dying polar bears, flooding coastlines and heatwaves. Global temperatures stalled fifteen earthling years ago and have yet to rise again, confounding the experts who are now backtracking like bewildered lobsters.

It seems they were trying to create a better world for nothing!

This is me, smolin9, the MMBC’s Pale Blue Dot correspondent, signing off from an ice floe somewhere in the Arctic.

David Winship has written an unauthorised autobiography and several critically disdained literary tomes. His work is frequently compared with Steinbeck, Orwell and Hemingway, but unfortunately Mike Steinbeck, Daisy Orwell and Howard Hemingway were all terrible writers. He has been totally overlooked for the most prestigious literary awards worldwide, which is a shame as most of the words are spelled correctly.
